Advanced Fire Cooking (£150) 10am to 5pm
The Pyromaniac Cookery School is rather different to many UK cookery schools and was inspired by chef Kathryn’s travels through Southeast Asia where cookery school students enjoyed a leisurely pace and an informal approach to learning. While there is plenty of hands on activity and the requisite cookery book to take home, students also take time to sip a glass or two of wine and gaze into the fire as they share a meal. All dishes taught can be recreated at home on a basic fire pit or barbecue with minimal equipment. All classes can cater for a wide range of dietary requirements. Please notify at time of booking.

Over the course of the day students will create a three course meal from scratch; fire-cooking a lamb or aubergine filling for a yogurt and turmeric griddled pie, creating a bespoke rub for a piece of smoked beef, halloumi or tofu, making smoked hasselback potatoes, smoking a salad and baking a self-saucing chocolate pudding. All courses will be enjoyed around the fire pit with wine (optional but highly recommended) but this is a faster paced event than the beginners course with far more preparation of ingredients.
