Timeless Vie is the MLM resistance and I love what they do. In case you’re not familiar with MLM (Multi level Marketing) companies, they have attracted a lot of criticism for their recruitment of vulnerable people (new mums being a popular target), their poor corporate ethics and their sheer prevalence in modern life.
Timeless Vie manages to relentlessly battle MLMs whilst maintaining a fabulously witty satire.
As I’ve read the posts over the months I’ve become acutely aware that speaking out against MLMs is a feminist issue. The reason I’m self-employed is because I wanted a life that fit around raising my son but also stimulated me intellectually. Oh and it had to have the potential for decent remuneration. I’m not alone in this and it is a fantastic hook for MLMs who pitch the perfect life. It’d be wonderful if it wasn’t a lie.
So as a feminist I’ve decided to join the fight. And I started with a guest post: Three ways MLMs are piggybacking on legitimate business tactics and why it doesn’t work.
